1. AL QURAN ARABIC EASY TO UNDERSTAND

.

Reading Al-Quran has become daily ritual to most Muslims but unfortunately most, do not understand what they read. Many Muslim scholars (especially in Malaysia and in many other countries in Asia) are of the opinion that those who read Al Quran without understanding it will still be rewarded (part of good deeds) but the Writer opine that Allah will NOT reward those who ONLY KNOW how to read the Al-Quran infact the Al Quran will curse the readers in hereafter, for not knowing what they read.

There are many verses of the Al Quran where Allah demands the believers to not only read but they MUST understand and implement what is commanded by Allah. So learning Al Quran Arabic is compulsory ("wajib").

After undergoing few sessions of learning Al-Quran Arabic, the Writer feels that learning Al-Quran it is actually easy (everyone who is a believer can do it) and this is guaranteed by Allah.

In this blog, the Writer will lay down and explain why it is important for Muslims to learn Al Quran Arabic and hopes, readers of this blog can share this blog address with others, to seek blessing from Allah.

As introduction, let us look at sura Al Qamar as follows:

Al Qamar (54:17)

(We have indeed made the Qu'ran easy to understand and remember : then is there any that will receive admonition)

Similar ayat is repeated four (4) times in Sura Al Qamar i.e. apart from Al Qamar (54:17), you can read similar ayat repeated at 54:22, 54:32 and 54:40. In addition, these three (3) ayats also relate to the above:

Yusuf (12:2)

(Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran in order that you may understand)

Al-Zukhruf (43:3)

(We Verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic. that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions)

What does this means? Truly, Allah guarantees that Al Quran is easy to learn, understand and remember. We have many Muslims all over the world from young to old able to recite the Al Quran by heart compare to other religious book like the Torah, Bible and others.

Az Zumar (39:23)

(Allah has sent down the best statement, a book (this Quran), its parts resembling each other in goodness and truth, often repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allah. This is the guidance of Allah. He Guides therewith whom he pleases and whoever Allah sends astray, for him there is no guide)

Many of us have diplomas, degrees, PhDs, some can speak few other languages but yet there are those with all the said qualifications, still do not understand Al Quran arabic language.

As an example, Al-Fatihah is read by us Muslims in our 5 daily prayer, 17 times. Assume, we have been praying diligently all these past years but without understanding the meaning of Al Fatihah (what more the additional two short suras during every prayer). Using simple calculation as per Table 1, let see how many times we have recited the Al-Fatihah during our prayers these past years!

Table 1

When we leave this world, how do we answer to our Creator? We have no time, no teacher, no money, no opportunity etc to understand the meaning of Al Fatihah (what more the whole suras in Al Quran) after reciting Al Fatihah 310,250 times for 50 years? Is our excuse acceptable by our Creator?  Think about it?

Although the Writer himself is in process of learning the Al Quran arabic language, he wishes to share what little knowledge he has learned thus far, due to the following ayat:

Al Baqarah (2:254)

(O you who have believed, spend from that which We have provided for your before there comes a Day in which there is no exchange and no friendship and no intercession. And the disbelievers - they are the wrongdoers)

The word "spend" also applies to what you learn not just what you have or earn. The above ayat is also translated by ulama and Islamic scholars that even we learn little, we must share and spread Allah's ayat to others before there come a Day (we do not know when?) where there is no exchange (no bargaining) and no friends (who will benefits) and no intercession (mediation/negotiation) and those who disbelieve, they are the ones who do wrong (wrongdoers).

In addition,

From today onwards, the Writer will highlight relevant suras and ayats that imply it is a must (wajib) for all Muslims to understand the Al Quran arabic language.

Last but not least, the Writer wishes to stress that he is not a shariah scholar and therefore do not claim to be an expert in this subject matter. The purpose of this blog is to share information (as demanded by Allah under Sura Al Baqarah 254 and the hadith)  for the same reason he is sharing his practical knowledge on  Islamic banking via blog http://www.islamicbankingway.com/.

The Writer hopes, followers of this blog can also share this blog address to others and together we pray for Allah's blessing in this world and hereafter. Any query, which he is unable to answer, shall be forwarded to those who are knowlegeable on subject matter and the Writer will revert later to the enquirer.

Wassalam.

ALLAH KNOWS BEST.
