.
Reading Al-Quran has become daily ritual to most Muslims but unfortunately most, do not understand what they read. Many Muslim scholars (especially in Malaysia and in many other countries in Asia) are of the opinion that those who read Al Quran without understanding it will still be rewarded (part of good deeds) but the Writer opine that Allah will NOT reward those who ONLY KNOW how to read the Al-Quran infact the Al Quran will curse the readers in hereafter, for not knowing what they read.
There are many verses of the Al Quran where Allah demands the believers to not only read but they MUST understand and implement what is commanded by Allah. So learning Al Quran Arabic is compulsory ("wajib").
After undergoing few sessions of learning Al-Quran Arabic, the Writer feels that learning Al-Quran it is actually easy (everyone who is a believer can do it) and this is guaranteed by Allah.
In this blog, the Writer will lay down and explain why it is important for Muslims to learn Al Quran Arabic and hopes, readers of this blog can share this blog address with others, to seek blessing from Allah.
As introduction, let us look at sura Al Qamar as follows:
Al Qamar (54:17)
![]() |
(O you who have believed, spend from that which We have provided for your before there comes a Day in which there is no exchange and no friendship and no intercession. And the disbelievers - they are the wrongdoers) The word "spend" also applies to what you learn not just what you have or earn. The above ayat is also translated by ulama and Islamic scholars that even we learn little, we must share and spread Allah's ayat to others before there come a Day (we do not know when?) where there is no exchange (no bargaining) and no friends (who will benefits) and no intercession (mediation/negotiation) and those who disbelieve, they are the ones who do wrong (wrongdoers). In addition, From today onwards, the Writer will highlight relevant suras and ayats that imply it is a must (wajib) for all Muslims to understand the Al Quran arabic language. Last but not least, the Writer wishes to stress that he is not a shariah scholar and therefore do not claim to be an expert in this subject matter. The purpose of this blog is to share information (as demanded by Allah under Sura Al Baqarah 254 and the hadith) for the same reason he is sharing his practical knowledge on Islamic banking via blog http://www.islamicbankingway.com/. The Writer hopes, followers of this blog can also share this blog address to others and together we pray for Allah's blessing in this world and hereafter. Any query, which he is unable to answer, shall be forwarded to those who are knowlegeable on subject matter and the Writer will revert later to the enquirer. Wassalam. |
